Cally Russell is the CEO and Founder of Mallzee the personal shopping app that Yahoo claimed ‘would change the way the world shopped’, he previously rejected Peter Jones on Dragons Den, was named Scotland Emerging Entrepreneur by Business Quarterly and has now grown a business to serve hundreds of thousands of shoppers around the world. From a standing start in 2013 and no background in technology the business now employs 25 people and has raised over £3m in investment.
Since co-founding britishairways.com in 1994, Julia has led a series of start ups in the digital and environmental sectors, and invested a combination of her time and money in a portfolio of sustainable businesses, including Loco2, and most recently Trillion Fund, the UK's leading social crowdfunding platform.
Bill is an experienced entrepreneur and director specialising in internet,
telecoms and technology businesses. He has led a number of successful private equity funded businesses since retiring from a 7-year spell at Iomart PLC (IOM) spanning founder to non-exec positions. These include Cupid plc, Maxymiser (recently sold to Oracle) and LendingCrowd as well as actively investing in a small portfolio of Internet businesses : DigitalBox, Tag-Games, Houseology, Logicalware, Avocet and Cloudsoft.
Jim set up Entrepreneurial Spark in 2011 to promote business start-ups and help them grow. The venture has enjoyed the backing of leading Scottish business figures such as Lord Willie Haughey, Sir Tom Hunter and Ann Gloag OBE, as well as the likes of Royal Bank of Scotland and KPMG.
Rory (@rorystirling) is a venture capital investor and was until recently a partner at MMC Ventures, one of the most active early stage investors in the UK. Rory is now working with Harry Briggs, Simon Calver and BGF to launch a new £200m venture capital fund dedicated to early stage UK technology companies.
